Gopaleswor Mahadev, Dakshinkali Municipality

Gopaleswor Mahadev is a popular Hindu temple located in the Dakshinkali Municipality of Kathmandu valley in Nepal. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities of Hinduism, and is considered an important religious site in the region.

Dakshinkali is a major Hindu pilgrimage site in Nepal, and is dedicated to the goddess Kali. The two temples are often visited together by devotees, especially during major festivals like Dashain and Teej.

Madhav Narayan Festival

Madhav Narayan 

Madhav Narayan Cultural Festival also known as " देश देखि परदेश यात्रा" from (शंखरापुर) Shankharapur to Shikharapur (शिखरापुर) and return to Shankrarapur again ,  just arrived today at Pharping. 

This festival is known as hardest fasting festival that requires hard discipline. The fasters don't touch anybody during the fast  and walk with bare foot through the journey which runs a month. 

According to the Police and Volunteers , Altogether 216 people involved in fasting where 25 are male and 151 are female. 125 volunteers are there to take care of devotee. Scouts , Red Cross and Local Community Club from pharping are there to serve the devotee. Shikharapur Community Learning Center, Dakshinkali News Daboo, Bajra Matrix and Dakshinkali ward-05 officials are involved to support pilgrimage tour. 

If any one one to donate  and distribute goods as suggested by culture to the devotee 135 numbers of division is preferred including Pujari ,  God and others.

The whole pilgrimage is managed by Madhav Narayan Beawsthapan Samiti lead by Bal Krishna Shrestha . The managed  community get  reformed every two years.

Cultural Warriors

Meet the panel of Respected  Guru Ba  ( गुरु बा ) from Kritipur sharing the Culture and Cultural Skill like playing Dhime , Dhime Dance and following the rituals to worship Nityanath (नित्यनाथ)  to the people of Shree Ganesh Guthi Dhime Khala , Dakshinkali-03. 

Once there was a time when Dhime was going to be endangered/vanished. At that time, Shree Ganesh Dhime Khala has set an example to revive the culture through music and musical instruments called Dhime. 

In history, Year 2066 B.S  the first batch of Dhime was produced to serve the southern region and we do have memmories that this team has explore culture to  various platforms like educational, Welcome , Diplomatic and many more. 

There was memmories when Scholar of Dhime, from Dakshinkali-03 stay in front of Bajrayogini Jatra playing it's magical instruments and attracts a huge crowd including national medias. 

This team has serve to Bosan Mhotsav (, बोसन महोत्सव) and other  each and every functions to this Cultural Society.

Now, Time has changed. Every body has forgotten their contribution. Mission Cultural revival has set an example to Dakshinkali Municipality. 

Thanks to all Cultural warriors who have devoted their time and energy to sustain, revive and explore Culture through Dhime. Even people may forget but not (Historians/) History will.

Newari Cuisine 

Newar is very rich  not only in culture but also in cuisine. Almost 100 plus varieties of cultural food is consumed by newars. Various foods has been modernised on the foundation of newari cultural food. 

Some of the cultural food used to consumed by newars are going to vanished. It is, therefore, need of time to conserve not only cultural but also food associated with it which clearly reflect the authentic newari culture. 

If we are able to protect such cultural cusine & pass to the new upcoming generation, it will revive forever. 

Furthermore, Being rich in cuisine , there is a huge potential of Gastronomy & food tourism which can be developed only by protecting our diversified newari cuisine.

एक परिचय

स्वस्थानी पुर्णेको चौथो दीन यानीकी चौथी तीथीमा दक्षिणकाली नगरपाली वडा न. ४ र ३  ,सल्लाघारी (बाराहीटोल) ,पीखेल र भन्ज्याङका नेवारहरुले सङठीत रुपमा श्री गणेश जात्रा मनाउदै आइरहेको छ। सो जात्रा श्री गणेश गुठीबाट संचालित हुँदै आइरहेको छ।

नेपाल भरी कही पनि यो दीन कतै जात्रा नहुने र यस ठाउँ मा मात्र हुदा यस जात्राको स्थानीय तहमा नीकै मान्यता रहदै आएको छ।

श्री गणेश ,श्री सेतीबाराही र सेतीदेबी माइको रथयात्रा नै यश जात्राको मुख्य आकर्षण रहदै आएको छ। साथै नेवारी परम्परा जगेर्ना गर्न यस समुदाएको नीकै ठूलो भुमीका रहदै आएको छ। धीमे , धा र खी जस्ता नेवारी बाजाको प्रयोगले जात्रामा थप आकर्षण थपेको छ भने दीमे बाजा र नीत्यमा जन समुदाए रम्दै आएको पाइन्छ।

स्थानीय नेवार जाती मात्र नभइ इक्छुक अन्य पनि यस जात्रामा समाबेश गरीने हुदा धार्मीक र जातीय सहीषणुता यस जात्रामा देख्न पाइन्छ।

शक्ति पीठ सेतीदेबी माइ मै यस समुदाएको रक्षक भएको पाइएन्छ।

सानो समुदाए , सानै रथ भएता पनि बीषेष महत्वका साथ यस गणेश जात्रालाइ हेरीने हुदा , गणेश गुठी तथा जात्राको महत्व दीन दीनै बढ्दै गएको पाइएन्छ।

अत: आफनै समुदाएमा आफनै तरीकाले जात्रा संचालन तथा प्रवर्धन गरिएको हुदा स्थानीय पनि नीकै गौरान्वीत र खुसी भेटीएको पाइन्छ।😊😊
